Check your MimeMap file: !Boot.Resources.!Internet.files.MimeMap
There is a known bug in the interpretation of these files in RISC OS 5
which causes some types of wildcards to be inappropriately applied.
>From memory, the guilty line should appear somewhere near the end, and
start with something like "*/xml". If this line is present on a RO5
computer, the XML filetype will be applied far more widely than one
might expect. Deleting it from the MimeMaps on my computers fixed this
problem.
I don't remember exactly how MimeMap works, so you might have to reset
to apply the changes.
