Have you tried checking if the RAM is faulty? It's amazing how bizarre
the problems that faulty RAM can cause.
As for the PSU, it was a serious suggestion: low or faulting voltages
can cause any number of bizarre, reproducible, unreproducible, precise,
and imprecise problems.
So yes, they're things worth checking when you've run out of ideas for
other things to check.
