It's more complicated than I thought! I've now tested 6 programmes
capable of rendering JPEGs (as opposed to converting them to sprites
on the fly). Of these, !Variations, !Photodesk, !ChangeFSI and !Draw
can have a filer window smoothly dragged over the JPEG they are
displaying, or the JPEG can be dragged offscreen and back on, and the
image does not break up; the JPEGs displayed by !SwiftJPEG and !Thump,
on the other hand, do break up when moved off and on screen or a
window is dragged across. So the problem does not appear to be related
to RPCEmu, but (presumably) to differences in the rendering procedure
adopted by individual applications.
