Hi all,
We at ROOL [1] are preparing disc images for the Raspberry Pi computer [2],
containing RISC OS and a selection of the best free software available for
the platform. These will be distributed electronically by the Raspberry Pi
Foundation (a registered charity) as well as via file-sharing.
Additionally, ROOL will be selling copies of this disc image, pre-installed
onto SD cards, for around £10. We recognise that most people consider this
to be a commercial use of the software - for example, royalties on RISC OS
itself are included in this figure.
We are very keen to keep the price down to £10 to remain competitive with
equivalent SD cards that are being produced for Linux, so unfortunately we
are unlikely to be able to accommodate any further requests for royalty
payments - I hope this is not a problem.
We would like to include Zap (et al) in these disc images, and would
appreciate permission to do so. Please accept my apologies if you have
already been contacted on this matter by others, but any permission you may
have given has not been passed on to us.
We're also working on a strict timetable, so it would be very helpful if
you could let us know who we should contact about this as soon as possible!
Many thanks,
Steve
