[Rpcemu] JPEG rendering issues

In general use I find RPCEmu very satisfactory, the only downside
compared with my Iyonix being generally slower JPEG rendering
(!Thump-Viewer-Slideshow runs about half as fast), despite general
system performance being considerably quicker. The worst instance is
when displaying two typical DSC JPEGs (4-5 MB) for comparison using
!Thump, and dragging one across the other, resulting in tedious 'black
striping' and image redrawing. 5.19 is better than 4.02 (presumably
due to being fully 32-bit), but still not as good as the Iyonix. I
appreciate that the comparison is unfair inasmuch as the Iyonix has
dedicated graphics hardware, but on the other hand RPCEmu's memory
speed on my system is massively (>3000%) faster than the Iyo according
to ROMark.

As it happens, image redrawing is being discussed in a thread on
netsurf-users
http://vlists.pepperfish.net/pipermail/netsurf-users-netsurf-browser.org/2013-June/011962.html
in which RO Select's cached screen memory and better JPEG routines are
mentioned.

I know that several of us are using RO 4.39 and 6.20 on RPCEmu - can
anybody confirm that JPEG display and screen redrawing is improved,
compared with 4.02?
