We first need to rewrite the form handling part of NetSurf itself. We need to
be making our "gadgets" manage their data via the DOM and make the form
submission happen via the DOM too. At that point, anything outside of the
render core updating the DOM will be possible and thus your idea could start to
bear fruit.
