Is that a problem? I know nothing about Red Squirrel, btw.

As you say, you'll need to fire up RS to zip the files so, if RS and
RPCEmu can exist on the same network, a direct transfer would seem to be
the simplest way of copying the files.

I regularly transfer files, via ShareFS, over the network between my
RiscPC and RPCEmu, running on a Win7 machine, _without_ zipping them, so
I wonder why you'd need to do that.
