TBH, I can't be certain - I think I'm using the ROL virtually free
one.

Your 4.39 display amounts to 1.85MB at 32K, which implies a
restriction to a 2MB max. under VIDC; have you adjusted the bandwidth
limits in Predesk.Configure.!Run?
I'm getting 5.05MB here on 4.02 (1680 x 1050 x 3 [24-bit depth]).
