Indeedy, that was the problem, I'd recently added two fonts.
I've removed the errant font (Verdans) and Netsurf now runs to the Icon
bar okay.
Thanks

It is likely you have recently added some new fonts to your system which
are causing the library to get confused.
Shift-double-click on !NetSurf, and run the OpenScrap script within.
Then send the log file to me (off list) and we'll see what it says.

Shift-double-click on !NetSurf, and run the OpenScrap script within.

Netsurf suddenly fails to start
VRPC-DL RISC OS 6.20
Help please.
Recently it was okay, but suddenly today Netsurf fails to run, presenting
the following.
" ** WimpError ** from NetSurf
Error : &00000001
Message: The Unicode font library could not be initialized. Please
report this to the developers."
What, why and how to fix it?
Thanks
Dave
Obviously I can't say which version of Netsurf it is, but it's reasonably
recent.

Well, that's definitely not right. I wonder if your files are getting
corrupted somewhere between the initial download and unzipping. Can
you download them with Netsurf directly in RISC OS?
Lee.
