Hi
I have just noticed that there is a facebook page for Netsurf.
How about including a link to it on the opening page?
(Obviously to the mobile version of the page.)
For anyone who wasn't aware

is quite usable on Netsurf (and possibly preferable to using timeline
on a javascript browser.)

I can confirm that RPCEmu089/519 offers networking and internet. As you
say, it does not support IDE HD4 but, for me, that is not an issue since
HostFS works perfectly well, in its stead.
To try 5.19, at zero risk, I would suggest that you make a backup copy
of the entire RPCEmu folder, in Program Files. If the 5.19 upgrade is
successful, well and good. If the 5.19 upgrade fails, you can revert to
the backup. Nothing to lose!

This is not strictly on topic here, but I really don't frequent other
forums much any more. I barely use my Iyonix, and if and when I do
get back into RISC OS, I'll get a Raspberry Pi or other small
ARM system. (I'm keeping my RPC for now for nostalgia value).

Original run "developer" Iyonix (serial #18). This is the machine
RISC OS Firefox was developed on, and much of my later ports and
general contributions to GCCSDK.
1GB RAM, Pinnacle TV card (might be NTSC, not PAL).
Looking for offers in US$ from California including P&P to wherever
you might be.
It's in an Aria cube case, which is relatively heavy, (100-240V PSU,
and with HDD and floppy), or I can just ship the carefully
wrapped motherboard, video card, USB card and TV card.

good old RISC OS and Messenger Pro, here I am! Interesting to hear
about the vagaries of the power supply in Ghana; one tends to take so
much for granted living somewhere like the UK. That said, the way our
nuclear power station building programme is (not) going, the same
problem could be a feature of life here before very much longer. As
you say, you've got the weather; here it's quarter to five in the
afternoon, drizzling lightly, growing dark and around 3 degrees C.

More graceful handling of failed image renders?
NetSurf redraws its pages in rectangular sections. This process
involves decoding any image files, such as JPEGs, which may be present
in that section.
At the moment, if an error occurs (e.g. JPEG data is invalid or
otherwise fails to decode), the redraw of the entire section is
cancelled. This is undesirable, because it leads to the appearance of
large blank white spaces on a page with invalid images on it.
You can see an example of the problems this causes here:

There are two invalid JPEGs in the sidebar there (or at least JPEGs
which RISC OS doesn't seem to like; Linux renders them OK). These are
the link to 'Skull Art' just beneath the (working) 'Corporate Skull
Guest Artist Week' image, and the Ink Outbreak avatar in the top-left of
the box beneath that.
If you slowly scroll down the page using NetSurf on RISC OS, you'll see
a thick white horizontal bar blotting out the image in the blog post to
the left of the Skull Art picture, as well as the Skull Art picture
itself failing to render.
If you press F12 and then Return with the faulty JPEG showing, most of
the window goes white!
NetSurf may not be able to render an image, but could it at least not
trash the rest of the page because of it?
